You live in South Thomaston and need to obtain a burning permit. You can get one from the Town Forest Warden or one of his deputies. Permits are issued for after 5:00 PM weekdays and for all day on weekends and holidays. No permits will be issued if the fire danger is high. State law requires a written permit for all outside fires, at any time of day, even if there is snow on the ground. The law also requires that the permittee must have the written permit in their possession at the burn site.
